Take the Private Member questionaire below( more info below):
Our vision has shifted from retail market sales to a homesteading / cooperative membership
A few years ago we ceased farm market operations do to massive burnout. What happened? We put business first instead of enjoying the amazing farm we have and utilizing it in a way to enjoy it to the fullest and share with others. The PMA, combined with some other tweaks, seemed to be the right thing to do.
The PMS allows us to engage in ways not possible before. Our vision has partly manifested into reality and now we are looking for YOU! We want like-minded people to participate with us in this farming journey. Below is a "wish list" of possibilities and if any of it interests you please join (no cost) and help us grow this community...or fellowship and also help others.

Agrestic Acres PMA wish list (no particular order):
- Adjust livestock operation, prepare room for horse rescue . ACCOMPLISHED! In late 2023 - early 2024, we adjusted our on-farm livestock operation to include pigs and chickens and for beef we work with other local farms we had purchased our young steer from to help fill any need for beef shares. WE ALSO WELCOMED 7 Hickories Farm Equine Rescue and we have 2 pastures and an area behind the barn run by 7 Hickories and currently giving 4 horse their best life. We hope to include the horse rescue as part of our tours during our on farm Events and they also run tack sales/Christmas sales throughout the year, as they are non-profit and this is how they fund the operation.
- Offer value added products - ONGOING. We have been making pickles, organic breads, organic pizza/pizza dough, organic pasta dough and such and look to add some more value added items that utilize products from the farm as well as other local farms/grain mills/ other organic products. These items are available to Private members.
- Utilize other fields not used for steer. ACCOMPLISHED! Last Summer Jeff teamed up with Food shed Alliance and Marksboro Mills to help build a local small grains economy. Jeff decided on Einkorn, and ancient grain unaltered like our modern day grains/flours. Many people with gluten issues can consume Einkorn as it DNA structure and gluten is unlike modern day grains. We will have our first harvest in 2025 and if all goes well we will offer this flour for sale and look to expand on this. We will likely have a tour of this operation and ask some small grains experts to give short presentations at some of our on farm Events.
- On Farm Events (THE FUN STUFF) - We are looking to organize some on farm events in 2025 that may include :
- Farm Open House with music and BBQ.
- Pasta making, a hands on event.
- Bread making with guided hands on learning from chef/baker
- mozzarella class with another local farmer with a small dairy herd
- suggestion box.... drop us a note after you join the PMA and help us create an event
- Cooperative Farm/Garden - THIS MAY BE THE COOLEST THING ! Part of walking away from a retail model is to enjoy what we have and TO SHARE this joy with others. We have room left for a larger garden ( somewhat of a community garden), meat chickens on pasture and possibly other small livestock. WHY? Many folks are looking to grow/raise their own food but do not have the space or sometimes local ordinances do not allow. By becoming a PMA member and being active in this endeavor you will get hands on experience and the satisfaction of knowing everything about your food.... BECAUSE YOU DID IT. This program would obviously require time on the farm, not just weekends, and in the end, part of the food grown/raised will be yours. I would love to think we could also help other local families in need with some of the food produced. PROCESS BEGUN/ONGOING
